Fire blankets are widely used to extinguish kitchen fires caused by fat, oil or grease, but their use doesn’t stop there, they can also be used as an effective fire control solution in all kinds of settings where small fires may occur such as caravans, schools, factories and workshops.
As well as being used to smother a fire away from the body, fire blankets can also be used to wrap around a person to immediately extinguish a fire or act as protection against fire depending on the nature of the incident.
This 1.8 x 1.8 fire blanket is made from fibreglass with a specialist fire retardant coating which is folded inside an enclosed red pack. It features flame proof handles and incorporates Kevlar thread to ensure the blanket retains its integrity.
When the blanket is draped over a fire, it smothers and starves the fire’s supply of oxygen thus extinguishing it and preventing further spread.
